The Hamburg fish market can be reached by underground line U3 to Reeperbahn in a 10-minute walk.
From fish, fruit, tropical plants and clothes to live chickens or whole duck families, the Hamburg fish market sells a wide variety of goods. The main attractions are the market criers. It is said that the merchants screaming loudly can be heard all the way to the Reeperbahn and not infrequently a piece of fruit flies through the air. Usually a fish is packed on top of it or a piece of sausage is advertised separately until a buyer is found for the goods. Many go home with heavy bags full of fish and fruit, but even without the intention of finding bargains, the Hamburg fish market is worth a visit. For example for a breakfast with fish rolls, a morning view over the Elbe to Hamburg harbor or simply to experience the spectacle of the market.
