City and harbour tour

City and harbour tour

To get a first impression of Hamburg, start your discovery tour with the red double-decker buses.
They start their journey at the main station, which you can reach on foot in 10 minutes. Alternatively, the buses start at the Landungsbrücken, which can be reached within 10 minutes with the U3 line from the main station. The double-decker buses take you past the most important sights of the city: Alster, City Hall, Speicherstadt, HafenCity and Reeperbahn. You can also buy a combined ticket on the bus and not only use the red double-decker buses all day, but also take a harbour tour. Interrupt your city tour at the Landungsbrücken and get a taste of the harbour air on a harbour tour.
Let the wind blow around your nose while your expert captain tells you all about the port, ships and cargo!

Hamburg's Speicherstadt

Hamburg's Speicherstadt

The Speicherstadt Hamburg is one of the most popular sights of the Elbe metropolis and can be reached within 15 minutes on the U1 line. The largest contiguous warehouse complex in the world was declared a World Heritage Site in 2015 and was built as a section of the Port of Hamburg as early as 1883.
Even today, the scent of the big wide world seems to hover over the old warehouses. Built on ancient oak piles, the six- to seven-storey brick buildings once served as duty-free storage facilities for coffee, cocoa, tobacco, tea and high-quality general cargo. They represent the world's largest contiguous warehouse complex. The old Speicherstadt can be easily explored from both land and water.
Let yourself be enchanted by this more than hundred-year-old district and get to know one of Hamburg's most popular tourist destinations!

The Elbphilharmonie - Hamburg's newest landmark

The Elbphilharmonie - Hamburg's newest landmark

The historic Kaispeicher A forms the base above which the crystalline, curved new building rises. From the main entrance, Europe's longest escalator, the "Tube", leads 82 metres up to the 6th floor of the Kaispeicher. Once here, probably the most beautiful window to the Elbe awaits you: a huge panoramic pane opens up a wonderful view over the Landungsbrücken and the harbour. Also on this level is the entrance to the Störtebeker restaurant.
On the 8th floor between the Kaispeicher and the glass superstructure is the so-called Plaza. At a height of 37 metres, the visitor is offered a circular walkway on the outer edge of the building, which provides a unique view of the city and the harbour on all sides. The central platform also houses the stairways to the concert halls, the hotel lobby, the Elbphilharmonie Shop and the Deck & Deli.

St. Michael's Church

St. Michael's Church

What would a short holiday in Hamburg be without a visit to Hamburg's St Michael's? The church of St. Michaelis is one of the most beautiful baroque churches in northern Germany and can be reached within 20 minutes on the U3 line. Its tower with its copper dome is the city's landmark.
Those who do not shy away from the steps to the viewing platform will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Hamburg skyline!

Miniature Wonderland

Miniature Wonderland

The world's largest model railway consists of over 16 kilometres of track on more than 1,545 square metres of exhibition space, which is constantly being expanded. Around 1,120 digital trains run on the rail network, controlled by 50 computers.
For example, be present at the big fire brigade operation and watch the take-offs and landings at Knuffingen Airport. A few steps further, you can marvel at the fjords of Scandinavia before heading on to the sunny south, to "bella Italia".
These dimensions not only delight model railway fans, but also amaze adults and children alike!
You can reach the Miniatur Wunderland within 15 minutes on the U3 line. So that you don't have to wait so long, it's worth booking your ticket in advance via the Internet.

Hamburg fish market

Hamburg fish market

You can reach the Hamburg fish market by taking the U3 underground line to Reeperbahn and then walking for 10 minutes.
From fish, fruit, tropical plants and clothes to live chickens or entire duck families, a wide variety of goods are traded at the Hamburg fish market. The main attraction is the market criers. Allegedly, the loudly shouting traders can be heard as far away as the Reeperbahn, and it is not unusual for a piece of fruit to fly through the air.
They usually add a fish on top or a piece of sausage until a buyer is found for the goods. Many go home with heavy bags full of fish and fruit, but even without the intention of finding bargains, a visit to the Hamburg fish market is worthwhile. For example, for a breakfast of fish rolls, a morning view across the Elbe to Hamburg harbour, or simply to experience the spectacle of the market.

Opening hours:
Summer season April to October: every Sunday 5:00 am to 9:30 am
Winter season November to March: every Sunday 7:00 am to 9:30 am

Reeperbahn & St. Pauli

Reeperbahn & St. Pauli

The Reeperbahn is the hub of Hamburg's nightlife in the St. Pauli district. Because as Hans Albers already sang: "On the Reeperbahn at half past twelve at night, whether you've got a girl or not, you'll have a good time, because that's what you'll find, on the Reeperbahn at half past twelve at night".
Hamburg's best-known district, St. Pauli, is also well worth a detour! Discover this fascinating and colourful district, which has much more to offer besides the Reeperbahn as an amusement mile with numerous theatres, pubs, bars and discos! Well-known places such as Hans-Albers-Platz and Große Freiheit alternate with historical sideshows in small side streets where the past of the working-class quarter can still be traced today.
You can reach Reeperbahn & St. Pauli in 20 minutes on the U3 line.
A guided tour can bring you closer to all facets of the dazzling neighbourhood life in an exciting mixture of culture and history!
